- 1826: French philhellene Charles Fabvier broke through Turkish positions and supplied the besieged Greeks at Athens.
- 1964: A deadly mine explosion resulted in 13 dead and 51 injured during the 22nd anniversary celebrations of the sabotage of the bridge of Gorgopotamos.
