Yiannis Kerdemelidis

Yiannis Kerdemelidis is a Greek painter and former football player.

Kerdemelidis was born in 1925 in Yalta, USSR. He came to Greece with his parents at age seven. In 1941, he joined Panionios initially as a goalkeeper. Soon, he made the transition to the midfield where he played most of his career. In his last two years at Panionios (1950 - 1952) he also played centre back.

During his career, Kerdemelidis was a specialist penalty and freekick taker. In 1952 he quit football and went for studies abroad. He settled in Canada and is an accomplished painter with exhibits abroad as well as in Greece.
