'''Markos Kyprianou''' is the current [[Minister for Foreign Affairs (Cyprus)|Minister for Foreign Affairs]] of the Republic of [[Cyprus]].

Kyprianou was born in [[Limassol]], on [[January 22]] [[1960]]. He studied Law at the [[University of Athens]] with graduate studies at Trinity College, Cambridge University and Harvard Law School. He practised law from [[1985]] to [[2003]].

From [[1986]] to [[1991]], Kyprianou served as City Councillor of [[Nicosia]]. He was elected to the [[House of Representatives (Cyprus)|House of Representatives]] in the [[1991]] parliamentary elections, under the banner of the [[Democratic Party of Cyprus]] and was re-elected in [[1996]] and in [[2001]]. He resigned from the House of Representatives in March [[2003]], to take over as Minister of Finance.

On [[February 29]], [[2008]] he was appointed [[Minister for Foreign Affairs (Cyprus)|Minister for Foreign Affairs]].
