Dimitra Galani is a Greek singer and songwriter.
Galani was born in Athens on November 14, 1952, to a musically talented family. She first broke out on the music scene in 1968, singing two songs of Dimos Moutsis on the album "Χαμόγελο" ("Smile"). Since then she has sung songs by Manos Hadjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Vasilis Tsitsanis and many others, in genres ranging from laiko to entekhno to ballads and even Byzantine music.
Galani has written songs herself and greatly influenced the musical trends of the 1990s. She has participated in, at least, 70 albums.
