Peristera is an uninhabitated Greek island in the Northern Sporades chain. It is located just East of Alonissos.
Peristera in ancient times was called Euonymos - meaning "left" - as it was on the left side of Alonissos. The Byzantines called it Sarakinonisi - island of the Saracens. Today, locals also call it "Xiro" (dry) as it is dry with no vegetation compared to Alonissos.
