- January 6: An earthquake strikes Volos causing material damage.
- January 16: Eleftherios Venizelos forms his last government.
February
- February 16: Workers and Policemen clash in Thessaloniki. The number of dead and injured reaches 100.
March
- March 5: Panagis Tsaldaris and his anti-Venizelist allies win the national elections in Greece.
- March 6: Gen. Nikolaos Plastiras attempts an unsuccessful coup d'etat against the newly-elected Popular Party government. Gen. Alexandros Othonaios forms a government.

April
- April 9: The match between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos is called off at half time due to rainfall with Olympiakos leading 2-1. Incensed Olympiakos supporters proceed to attack the referee and the players of Panathinaikos leading to the latter's withdrawal from the 1933 Football Championship.
May
- May 11: Gen. Ioannis Metaxas and several members of the Popular Party government suggest that Eleftherios Venizelos be prosecuted as responsible for the unsuccessful coup d'etat of March 6.
June
- June 6: Eleftherios Venizelos becomes the target of an assassination attempt for the second time in his life. His car is riddled with bullets but the Cretan politician escapes unhurt.
- June 8: Eleftherios Venizelos is interviewed by the police concerning the assassination attempt against his life. He accuses the government and especially Interior Minister, Ioannis Rallis, as responsible.
July
- July 2: Olympiakos clinch the 1933 Football Championship by defeating AEK 2-0 on a forfeit win. Olympiakos were ahead 3-2 when the game was interrupted due to fan trouble.
- July 23: A strong earthquake (6.6 on the Richter scale) strikes Kos, killing 200 persons.
