- January 4: Swimmer Georgios Ivanof of Iraklis Salonica, is executed during the German occupation. To honor his memory the club names its basketball court to Ivanofio (Ιβανόφειο) after him.
- January 14: Major Ioannis Tsigantes, leader of the resistance movement Midas 614, is slain during a battle with Italian carabinieri.
- January 19: The "RHS Vasilissa Olga" sinks the Italian ship Stromboli off the coast of Tunisia.
February
- February 4: Kostas Perrikos, head of resistance group PEAN is executed by the Germans.
- February 16: Italian occupation troops execute 118 Greeks from Domeniko and Mesochori, Larisa prefecture.
