  • January 4: Swimmer Georgios Ivanof of Iraklis Salonica, is executed during the German occupation. To honor his memory the club names its basketball court to Ivanofio (Ιβανόφειο) after him.
  • January 14: Major Ioannis Tsigantes, leader of the resistance movement Midas 614, is slain during a battle with Italian carabinieri.
  • January 19: The "RHS Vasilissa Olga" sinks the Italian ship Stromboli off the coast of Tunisia.

  • March 5: Dozens of Greeks are killed during a protest against conscription by the occupying Axis powers.
  • March 6: ELAS guerrilas attack a convoy of Italian occupation troops at Fardykampos near Siatista, Macedonia. They capture 600 prisoners and much war materiel.
  • March 12: Italian occupation troops execute 40 Greeks at Tsaritsani.
