Artemisio (Euboea)

Artemisio is a town in the municipality of Istiaia-Aidipsos on the island of Euboea, Greece. It is situated 116km NW of Chalkida.

The population of the town is 348 inhabitants, according to the 2001 census.

Artemisio was at one time the home of poet Georgios Drosinis. In antiquity, its main claim to fame was the naval battle that took place just off its coast between the combined Greek and the Persian fleets in 480 BC.
