She won the triple jump silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics with a jump of 15.25m, after setting the Greek record in the preliminaries with 15.32m.
In March 2011, Devetzi was given a two-year ban from athletics by the ΙΑΑF, due to her failure, on May 23, 2009, to submit to a drug test. The decision was controversial due to inconsistencies and irregularities in the report of the doping control officer.
