Demetra Liani is a former Olympic Airways hostess who, in 1989, married aging Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou.

Liani was born in Florina, western Macedonia, Greece and is first cousin to former Iraklis footballer and Deputy Minister for Athletics, Giorgos Lianis.

The relationship had caused controversy as Papandreou was already married to his second wife, Margaret Papandreou. Further controversy was caused when sexually compromising photos of Liani appeared in some Athens dailies. This, however, did not prevent Papandreou from including Liani in state functions - even before they were married - or going ahead with the marriage, even with the opposition of his children.

On January 16, 1996, Papandreou resigned and Liani returned to private life. She has been widowed since June 23, 1996.
