Dimitris Paridis

Dimitris Paridis was a Greek football player of the 1970s era.

Paridis was born on September 20, 1945 in Agios Andreas Kavala, to a family that hailed from Nicopolis in Pontus. He first started playing football for Keravnos Agios Andreas (Κεραυνός Αγίου Ανδρέα), a local Kavala team. In 1961, he debuted for AE Kavala which later merged with other teams in that city to form Kavala FC. He moved to PAOK after the 1966 season.

Considered by many one of the best wing attackers for Greek football, his best qualities were speed, sharp dribbling, nice shot and ...foxy smarts. He was beloved by PAOK fans.

He played with PAOK until 1977 in 183 championship games scoring 49 goals, in 31 cup games scoring 19 goals; 4 games for the UEFA Cup, 8 games in the Cupwinners Cup with 1 goal, and 1 game in the European Champion Clubs' Cup (later to become the UEFA Champions League). He was capped six times by the National Football Team of Greece.

Paridis died of cancer on August 22, 2015. The stadium of Agios Andreas Kavala is named in his honor.
