Djamel Abdoun

Djamel Abdoun is a French-born Algerian football midfielder.

Abdoun was born on February 14 1986 in Montreuil, Paris, France. He started his career in the youth system of Paris Saint-Germain in 2002, moving on to Ajaccio the following year.

Abdoun's career at Ajaccio lasted until 2008. In that period, he also played on loan with Manchester City and Sedan. His next stop was at Nantes where he recorded 50 league appearances in three years.

In August 2010, Abdoun joined Kavala FC where he played a single season. In that year, he led the Greek Super League in assists with eight. The following year he was acquired by Olympiakos where he won the league title.

International

Abdoun played at all youth levels for France but chose to represent Algeria at the senior level. He debuted for Algeria on January 18, 2010, against Angola at the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
