Dorotheus was Archbishop of Athens and all Greece from March 29, 1956 until his death on July 26, 1957.

Dorotheus was born on the island of Hydra in 1888. His surname was Kottaras. He studied at the Theological School of the University of Athens and graduated in 1909.

Dorotheus was ordained a deacon in 1910, a priest in 1922 and, just two days later, bishop of Kythera and Antikythera. On January 15, 1935 he became Metropolitan of Larisa and finally, on March 29, 1956 he became Archbishop of Athens and all Greece.

Dorotheus died on July 26, 1957 in Stockholm, Sweden.
