Giorgos Mitsibonas was a football defender for AE Larisa during their heyday in the Greek League.

Mitsibonas was born on November 11, 1962, in Tsaritsani. He joined AE Larisa in 1981 from local club Oikonomos Tsaritsani, winning the Cup in 1985 and the Greek Football Championship in 1988. In 1989, he joined PAOK. He moved on to Olympiakos in 1992 before returning in 1994 to AE Larisa. In the summer of 1996 he went to Tyrnavos FC.

Mitsibonas was capped 26 times by the Greek National Football Team scoring 1 goal (in a friendly against Cyprus).

He died on September 13, 1997, in a car crash in Giannouli.
