Giorgos Trontzos was a Greek basketball center of the 1960s - 1970s era.

Trontzos was born in Veria, Macedonia, Greece on February 16, 1942. At 2.17m, he was the tallest Greek player of his day. He joined YMCA Thessaloniki in 1956 before moving on to AEK in 1963. There, he won 5 Greek championships and was instrumental in AEK's winning the European Cupwinners' Cup in 1968.

Trontzos, from 1963 until 1974, was capped a total of 136 times by the National Basketball Team of Greece, scoring 1545 points.

He coached AEK in 1980, leading his team to the final of the Greek Cup.
