Hossam Hassan

Hossam Hassan (born August 10, 1966) is considered one of the best Egyptian and African football players of all time. He has played more international matches and scored more goals than anyone in Egypt's soccer history. As of 2006, he had amassed 170 caps for his country and scored 80 goals.

4) He is the only player to win 3 African Cup of Nations Titles (1986, 1998 & 2006)

5) He participated in 2 African Cup of Nations Tournaments 20 years apart (1986 & 2006)

6) World 3rd & Highest Egyptian all-time record of international goals (80)

7) Second highest all-time record of goals in Egyptian League, Scoring 162 Goals (2nd to Hassan El-Shazly)

8) Highest record of goals in Zamalek / Ahly Derbies (9 goals)

9) Egyptian & African all-time record of African Club Cup titles (6 titles)

10) Second Egyptian all-time Goal record in African club Cups (27 Goals)

11) One of two players who scored for Ahly against Zamalek and for Zamalek against Ahly


His twin brother, Ibrahim, has also been capped by Egypt over 100 times. Ibrahim has mainly played for the same clubs as Hossam has, but is now retired.
