Major Ioannis Tsigantes was a Greek miltary figure of the resistance against the Axis forces that occupied Greece between 1941 and 1944.

Tsigantes arrived in Athens, from Beyrut, in July 1942 as a representative of the Greek Government-in-exile. His mission was to unite all resistance movements into a unified force to combat the Axis forces.

Tsigantes organised his command under the name "Midas 614". On January 14, 1943, Italian carabinieri came upon his hideout in Athens. A gun battle ensued and Major Tsigantes was killed. His bust adorns a square at the junction of Patissia and Alexandras Streets in Athens.
