Maleme is a town in the municipality of Platanias, Chania prefecture, Crete, Greece.

Its usual population in 2001 was 716 inhabitants.

Maleme was the sight of the airfield that became a primary target of the Germans during the Battle of Crete. It fell on May 21, 1941.
