2024: Ethnic Greek Fredi Beleri, who was elected mayor of Chimara, Northern Epirus in 2023, is sentenced to two years in jail by an Albanian court on trumped-up charges of vote buying.

1970: Panachaiki FC are adjudged guilty by the Hellenic Football Association of having bribed players of Aris to play poorly against them. They forfeited the remainder of their games in the Alpha Ethniki and were relegated.
2000: Demosthenes Tampakos wins the gold medal in rings (9.750 points) at Moscow international meeting.
2023: Miltos Tentoglou claims his third straight long jump title at the indoor European Championships of Istanbul with a jump of 8.30m.
