- 1821: Andros joins the Greek War of Independence.
- 1910: Chrysostom arrives at Smyrna to take up his post as Bishop.

- 1956: Michalis Karaolis and Andreas Dimitriou become the first two Greek-Cypriots executed by the British during the EOKA campaign.

- 1987: The 5th International Waterpolo Men FINA Cup is held in Thessaloniki. Greece take 8th place (last). Yugoslavia win the trophy. Manuel Estiarte of Spain takes the top scorer award (28 goals)
- 2000: Ionikos play for the first time in a Greek Cup final. They lose to AEK 3-0
- 2006: In the first Greek Football Cup final played in Crete, Olympiakos defeat AEK 3-0.
