Nikolaos Papanikolaou was a Greek athlete who competed in the triple jump and the high jump.

Papanikolaou was born in Elefsina in 1911. He was an athlete of Ethnikos Gymnastic Club and competed in the Olympiad of 1932.

Papanikolaou broke the Greek record for the triple jump on October 12, 1930 with 14.31m. He broke the record for the high jump twice, the last time being on October 4, 1931 with 1.89m. This latter record held for 20 years.

Among his accomplishments were 6 gold medals in the Balkan Games between 1930 and 1932.
