Nikos Vamvakoulas is a former Greek football defender of the 1970s - 1980s era, known for his long hairdo and his sense of humour.

Vamvakoulas was born on January 31, 1957. He started his football career at Palavriotiki before making the big jump to Olympiakos Piraeus. In 1985, he signed for Panathinaikos and also played for Ionikos (1989 - 1990), OFI (1990 - 1991) and PAS Giannina (1992).

He is considered one of the best defenders Greece has ever produced.

During his career Vamvakoulas was capped 30 times by the National Football Team of Greece.
