  • 1855: Dimitrios Voulgaris forms his first government.
  • 1922: The Armistice of Mudanya is signed between Britain, France, Italy on the one hand and Turkey on the other.
  • 1962: Cement firm "Titan" begins operations in Thessaloniki.
  • 1989: Yiannis Grivas forms a caretaker government.
  • 2003: A pair of Siamese twins from Thessaloniki are successfully separated in Rome.
  • 2010: Policeman, Epaminondas Korkoneas, is found guilty, by a court in Amfissa, of intentionally shooting 15-year-old Alexandros Grigoropoulos on December 6, 2008. He is sentenced to life imprisonment. A second policeman, Vasilis Saraliotis, is convicted of complicity and receives a 10-year sentence.
