- 2010: The Supreme Court acquitted ex-Prime Ministers Petros Protopapadakis, Nikolaos Stratos and Dimitrios Gounaris and three others, all convicted of high treason and executed in 1922 for their role in the Asia Minor disaster.

- 1963: Olympiakos defeat Zaglebie Sosnowiec of Poland 2-0 in Vienna for the Cupwinners' Cup and become the first club from Greece to advance to the next round of a European Cup.
