Prodromos is a village in the north of Lemesos province, Cyprus built high up on the Troodos mountains at an altitude of 1,400m above sea level.
The inhabitants of Prodromos are occupied mainly with tourism and tending fruit trees. Each summer, Prodromos is visited by thousands of tourists who prefer a mountain resort rather than the coastal resorts that Cyprus has to offer.
It is noteworthy that four Archbishops of Cyprus were from Prodromos:
- Makarios I (1854-1865)
- Sofronios III (1865-1900)
- Kyrillos II (1909-1916)
- Makarios II (1948-1950)
