Stathis Aloneftis (born on March 29, 1983, in Nicosia, Cyprus) is a Cypriot footballer. He is an attacking midfielder who tends to play on the left wing. He is highly regarded for his dribbling skills. He started his career with Omonia Nicosia, making his first appearance for the senior squad during the 2000-01 season however his real talent became apparent during 2003-04. His successes with Omonia include the championship and Super Cup (in 2001 and 2003) and the Cyprus Football Cup in 2005. He moved to the Greek side, AE Larisa in 2005 for a transfer fee CYP £136,000. Further moves may be in store for Aloneftis as he is currently scouted by AEK Athens.
