Vangelis Perpiniadis was a Greek singer and composer of laika music.

He was born on September 1, 1927, the son of Rebetiko singer Stellakis Perpiniadis. His childhood was spent in the poor Piraeus suburb of Nikaia better known as Kokkinia where he was a choir boy for the local church.

His big break came in 1947 when he was discovered by Mimis Traiforos a composer and husband of the great singer Sophia Vembo. Perpiniadis sang as a second voice until 1956 when his own recording career began with record company Odeon-Parlophon whose director was Minos Matsas. He sang songs by composers Markos Vamvakaris, Vasilis Tsitsanis, Yiannis Papaioannou, Apostolos Kaldaras and others. At that time, he also played in the cinema co-starring with actors such as Christoforos Nezer, Kakia Analyti, Despo Diamantidou, Mimis Fotopoulos and others.

From 1962 until 1968, Perpiniadis was accompanied in his songs by Ria Norma forming one of the great duets at that time.
