'''Lysi''' is a village in [[Ammochostos province]], [[Cyprus]], currently under Turkish occupation. It is situated 24 km. west of the city of [[Ammochostos]] (Famagusta).
Lysi is the birthplace of the legendary [[Grigoris Afxentiou]], second in command of [[EOKA]] who was killed in the [[1950s]] struggle.
In [[1973]], its population was 4,537 inhabitants - all of them Greeks.
Lysi was the first town or city in Cyprus to have a grass-covered [[football (soccer)|football]] pitch, the home of [[ASI Lysi FC]].
