'''Amiras''' ([[Greek language|Greek]] Αμιράς) is a town in the municipality of Viannos, [[Heraklio prefecture]], [[Crete]], [[Greece]].

The population of Amiras, according to the [[2001]] census, was 353 inhabitants.

The name Amiras is derived from the Arabic amir or emir - ruler. The town was probably built and named during the period of Arab rule in [[Crete]].

In September [[1943]], 114 of its inhabitants were executed by the German occupation forces in retaliation for the death of 84 of their soldiers nearby. A monument in the town commemorates the memory of those who were executed.
