Kathiniotis was born in [[Volos]] on [[March 16]], [[1952]]. He was an athlete of GC Volos and competed in the Olympiad of [[1976]].

Kathiniotis broke the Greek record for the [[long jump]] on [[August 25]], [[1973]] with 7.78m. He broke the [[triple jump]] record 4 times, the last time being on [[July 1]], [[1976]] with 16.61m.

Among his accomplishments were 2 gold and 3 bronze medals in the Balkan Games between [[1972]] and [[1976]] as well as a silver in the Mediterranean Games of [[1971]].
