'''Aristos Arvanitis''' was a [[Greeks|Greek]] communist, the first chairman of the Socialist Workers Party of Greece (SEKE) which became the [[Communist Party of Greece) (KKE) in [[1922]].

Arvanitis had espoused socialism while in Germany and became the the first chairman of the Socialist Workers Party of Greece (SEKE) in November [[1918]]. He was ousted in [[1919]] as an "opportunist" because he was opposed to placing the SEKE under the ideological and organisational aegis of the Communist International (Comintern).

Afterwards, Arvanitis became involved in socialdemocratic movements. He authored a book "Crisis in Socialism and Communism"
