Agrapidis was born in [[1946]] in [[Piraeus]]. He studied Medicine at the [[University of Athens]] specialising in gynaecology.

In the period [[1986]] - [[1990]], Agrapidis served as Deputy Mayor of [[Piraeus]] under [[Andreas Andrianopoulos]]. From [[1990]] until [[1998]], he served as City Councilman. In October [[1998]], he was elected Mayor with 58.5% of the vote. He was re-elected in [[2002]] with 56.1% but was defeated in his third bid by veteran [[basketball]] player [[Panagiotis Fasoulas]].

Agrapidis is married with two children.
