<p></p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>&#039;&#039;&#039;Christos Fotomaras&#039;&#039;&#039; was a commander during the [[Greece|Greek]] [[War of Independence]].<br /> <br /> Originally from [[Parga]], [[Epirus]], Fotomaras fought in the second siege of [[Messolonghi]] and survived the break-out to continue the war effort.<br /> <br /> Fotomaras settled in [[Nafplio]] after the war. When Governor [[Ioannis Kapodistrias]] was assassinated and his murderer, [[Konstantinos Mavromichalis]] was being lynched, Fotomaras heard the commotion and came out to his window to see what was happening. When told of the murder, he pulled out his loaded gun and put the assassin out of his misery.
