'''Dimitris Kastanas''' was a [[Greek-Americans|Greek-American]] journalist and broadcaster.

Kastanas was born in the village of Molos, [[Phthiotis prefecture]], [[Central Greece]]. He immigrated to the United States in [[1968]], at the age of 25.

Kastanas started his broadcasts in [[1975]] and founded the National Greek Television (NGTV), the first private Greek-owned TV channel in the US. He managed NGTV until August [[2012]] when he sold it to a group of Greek-American businessmen.

Kastanas died aged 70, on [[January 14]], [[2013]], after heart surgery. He was survived by his wife, Nomiki, and two children: Matina and George.
