His surname was Kottaras. He studied at the Theological School of the [[University of Athens]] and graduated in [[1909]].<br /> <br /> Dorotheus was ordained a deacon in [[1910]], a priest in [[1922]] and, just two days later, bishop of [[Kythera]] and [[Antikythera]].
