'''[[Ellinikon]]''' ([[Greek language|Greek]]: Ελληνικό, meaning "Greek") is a suburb of [[Athens]], [[Greece]] approximately 11.5 miles from Athens city centre. It was the home of the [[Ellinikon International Airport]] (built in [[1937]]) which has now been replaced by [[Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport|Eleftherios Venizelos]] in [[Spata]] as the major international airport of Athens.

Ellinikon is bordered on the south by [[Glyfada]], on the north by [[Alimos]] ([[Kalamaki]]) and on the northeast by [[Argyroupolis]]. On the east is Mt [[Hymettus]]. Much of the eastern border is formed by Vouliagmeni Avenue while Poseidon Avenue runs parallel to the seacoast on the west connecting Ellinikon to [[Piraeus]]. The town hall is on the east side. One third of the municipality was covered by the airport which was replaced largely by athletic parks for the Athens Olympics of 2004. Much of the residential areas are in the eastern part of Ellinikon.

To the west, on the coast of the [[Saronic Gulf]] is the quarter of [[Agia Kosmas]].

Elliniko has schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, churches, a post office, banks, beaches and squares (''plateies'').
