Charidimos was born in [[1924]], the son of [[Christos Charidimos]], the premier shadow theatre artist in [[Piraeus]]. Georgios picked up his father's career and by the time he retired in [[1988]], had completed over 7,000 shows. He died in the summer of [[1996]].
