'''Georgios Petsos''' is a [[Greeks|Greek]] political figure in the [[PASOK]] party.

Petsos was born in [[Edessa]], [[Macedonia]], [[Greece]] on [[March 7]], [[1947]]. He studied Law at the [[University of Thessaloniki]].

After the restoration of democracy in July [[1974]], he joined the [[PASOK]] party and was elected to the [[Hellenic Parliament]] in the elections of [[1977]], [[1981]] and [[1985]].

Petsos served in the cabinet of many [[Andreas Papandreou]] governments:
*As Deputy Minister of Defence ([[1981]] - [[1982]])
*As Deputy Minister of Industrial Energy ([[1987]])
*As Minister of Transportation ([[1988]])
*As Minister of Public Order ([[1988]] - [[1989]])

From [[1998]] until [[2000]] he served as Nomarch of the [[prefecture]] of [[Pella prefecture|Pella]].

Petsos currently works in the private sector as Chairman of a foreign concern in Greece.
He is married with one son.
