'''Gikas Botasis''' was a [[Greeks|Greek]] fighter and political representative during the [[War of Independence]] against the Ottoman Empire ([[1821]] - [[1829]]).

Botasis was born circa [[1797]]. During the [[War of Independence]], he was instrumental in getting his ancestral home town of [[Kranidi]] and its environs to join the war effort.

He attended the [[First National Assembly]] as a representative of [[Spetses]] between December [[1821]] and January [[1822]]. Afterwards, he took part in the capture of [[Nafplio]].

Botasis died a pauper, in [[Nafplio]], in [[1831]].
