'''Grigoris Georgakopoulos''' was a [[Greeks|Greek]] athlete in the [[800m]] and the [[1500m]].

Georgakopoulos was born in [[1910]]. He was an athelete of [[AEK]] [[Athens]].

Between [[1929]] and [[1937]], he won a total of 16 medals in the Balkan Games, 10 gold and 6 silver.

Georgakopoulos was the holder of the Greek record for the [[800m]] which he broke a total of five times, the last time being in [[1936]] - 1:57.3 - which stood for 13 years.

He was also the holder of the Greek record for the [[1500m]] which he broke 8 times, the last time being in [[1936]] - 4:01.4 - which stood for 17 years.

Georgakopoulos took part in the Summer Olympics of [[1928]] and [[1936]].

He died of tuberculosis on [[November 23]], [[1956]].
