[[Ioannis Alevras]] ([[1912]]-[[1995]]) was a socialist politician who served as Chairman of the [[Greek Parliament]]. He had defended [[Andreas Papandreou]] during his trial in the [[Aspida]] affair and had been in jail during the years of the military dictatorship for resisting it. After President [[Constantine Karamanlis]] resigned, Alevras served as an interim Deputy President ([[March 10]], [[1985]] - [[March 30]], [[1985]]) of the Republic until new President [[Christos Sartzetakis]] was elected from the Parliament.
