Maragoudakis was born in [[Athens]] in [[1938]]. He was an athlete of [[Panionios]].

He broke the 21-year old Greek record - held by [[Christos Dimitropoulos]] - for the [[hammer throw]] in [[1957]]. However, that same year he was admitted to the [[Athens Polytechnic Institute]] and his sports-related activities diminished and gradually ceased.

Maragoudakis currently serves as the President of the Panhellenic Open Sea Sailing Club.
