'''Kostas Karras''' was a [[Greeks|Greek]] actor and politician.

Karras was born on [[June 21]], [[1936]], in [[Athens]]. He studied acting both at the Drama school of the [[National Theatre]] and at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Karras made his stage debut, in [[1963]], in the "Mousetrap" of Agatha Christie.

He made his screen debut in the [[1961]] film "Who is Margarita?". Throughout the [[1960s]] and [[1970s]] he starred in several Greek films playing a variety of roles. Especially memorable was his performance as [[Menelaus]] in the [[1977]] film "Iphigenia".

Karras also played in several TV serials.

From [[2000]] until [[2007]] he served as a Member of the [[Hellenic Parliament]] under the banner of [[New Democracy]].

Karras died of cancer on [[May 6]], [[2012]].

He was married to Angeliki Baroutsou. The couple had a son named Vasilis.
