Born in 1937, Kostas Vallianos was considered the best goalkeeper in Greece following [[Savvas Theodoridis]]' retirement from football in the early 1960's.
He played for [[Ethnikos Piraeus FC|Ethnikos Piraeus]] until 1967 when he trasferred to [[Olympiakos FC|Olympiakos]]. His career at Olympiakos was short-lived however, as the Secretary General of Sport, [[Costas Aslanidis]], released his name in 1967 as one who had taken bribes to throw games. Vallianos denied the charges, claiming the payment in question was made to him as a bonus for having played well, but [[Olympiakos FC|Olympiakos]] released him.
He was capped 11 times by the Greek National Team.
