Virvos was born in [[1926]] in [[Trikala]], [[Thessaly]]. He studied in [[Athens]] and has been a songwriter since [[1950]]. Among the composers and singers he has worked with are: [[Mikis Theodorakis]], [[Vasilis Tsitsanis]], [[Mimis Plessas (composer)|Mimis Plessas]], [[Yiannis Markopoulos]], [[Grigoris Bithikotsis]], [[Stelios Kazantzidis]], [[Giorgos Dalaras]] and [[Tolis Voskopoulos]].

Virvos has published three anthologies with his songs. He has been honoured by the Greek government and several Universities for his contribution to Greek music.
