'''Mariza Koch''' is a popular [[Greeks|Greek]] folk singer.

Koch was born in [[Athens]] in [[1946]] but grew up in the island of [[Thera]]. At age 19 she returned to Athens to take music lessons. She first recorded an album - "Arabas" - in [[1971]] and soon established herself as a premier folk singer. In [[1976]], she took part in the Eurovision Song contest, held in Hague, with the song "[[Panagia]] mou, Panagia mou", written in protest of the Turkish occupation of [[Cyprus]].

Besides traditional folk music - which is sometimes accompanied by synthesisers and other modern instruments - and Aegean island music, Koch has also recorded "[[Erotokritos]]" with [[Nikos Xylouris]] and has even written her own music.
