'''Michail Stefanidis''' was a [[Greeks|Greek]] university professor and member of the [[Academy of Athens]].

Stefanidis was born on [[November 8]], [[1868]] in [[Mantamodos]] on the island of [[Lesbos]]. He attended the [[University of Athens]], graduating in [[1893]], with a doctorate in Physics.

Stefanidis taught Physics in High School at [[Mytilene]] between [[1896]] and [[1912]]. He later taught at the [[University of Athens]].

Stefanidis took part in the creation and publication of the "Historical Dictionary of the Greek Language". He was elected to the [[Academy of Athens]] in [[1938]].

He died on [[November 25]], [[1957]].
