Vavoulas was born in [[Heraklio]], [[Crete]]. He played as a forward for [[OFI FC|OFI]] until [[1947]] when he transferred to [[Ethnikos Piraeus FC|Ethnikos Piraeus]]. After 8 years, he returned to OFI where he ended his career.
