Nikitas Kaklamanis is a [[Greeks|Greek]] politician and former minister.

Kaklamanis was born on the island of [[Andros]] on [[April 1]], [[1946]]. He studied medicine at the [[University of Athens]] and is a radiologist and Assistant Professor of Radiotherapy by profession.

Kaklamanis joined the conservative [[New Democracy]] party in [[1974]]. He was first elected a member of the [[Hellenic Parliament]] in [[1990]]. In [[1993]], he was reelected under the banner of the [[Political Spring]] party of [[Antonis Samaras]] but joined [[New Democracy]] once again and has served in Parliament under the ND banner ever since. In [[1994]], he was elected a Member of the European Parliament.

Kaklamanis has served as [[Minister of Health and Social Solidarity (Greece)|Minister of Health and Social Solidarity]] under present-day PM [[Costas Karamanlis]]. He is currently a candidate for the office of Mayor of [[Athens]].
